The Fondazione Internazionale per la Scultura operates the Centro Internazionale di Scultura and its five artists’ ateliers in Peccia. Following a call for entries, international talents are selected by an independent jury. The jury is neutral as regards all applicants’ origin, politics, religion, gender, and sexual orientation.The artists that are selected for the Residency will work on their projects for 6 months from the beginning of May until the end of October with the opportunity of opting for a 3-moths stay (May to July or August to October) to be decided together with the jury once the application is confirmed. They are given a working studio/ Atelier and can access three workshops covering stone-, wood- and metalworking as well as accommodation in a studio apartment in the “Casa degli Artisti” located in the heart of Peccia, a few steps away from the Centro. The workplace is also equipped with a 20-ton crane so that even large projects can be undertaken in the local Cristallina marble.Visits and meetings with other artists, art historians, curators, and gallery owners during the residency will allow for the exchange of ideas and practices, the acquisition of new knowledge and skills, as well as an opportunity to expand one’s network. As a juried Artist in Residence, you will become an ambassador and contribute to achieving the Foundation’s goals. Requirements: Solid training in three-dimensional art and at least two years of professional experience as an artist. Interest in and ideally good knowledge of stonemasonry; At least one solo exhibition in the last eighteen months; Able to meet the requirements for entry and residence permit in Switzerland; Ability to cover one’s living costs of min CHF 1,500.-/month as per local rules (obtaining a work permit for six months); for exceptions see “Our service”; Willingness to cooperate in the Foundation’s open communication strategy (visits by amici, sponsors, and press, publication on media, including events outside Peccia, etc.); bring your working shoes (security shoes).
