The time has come: We are pleased to announce the launch of an ideas competition open to individuals and legal entities, including artists, designers, architects, students, and interdisciplinary teams.
We are hereby announcing an open ideas competition to solicit creative and feasible concepts for the artistic and aesthetic enhancement of Marie-Luise-Nikuta-Platz. We are seeking a memorial site that will honorably and permanently highlight the life and work of Marie-Luise Nikuta in public space.
The ideas contest runs through November 11, 2026, when interested participants can submit a concept. Multiple submissions (up to two concepts per person or team) are permitted.
We were able to assemble a strong and diverse jury, which will evaluate the submitted concepts in November and award prize money totaling 5,000 among the top three proposals (1st place: 2,500 EUR | 2nd place: 1,500 EUR | 3rd place: 1,000 EUR).
