The Foundwork Artist Prize is an annual award presented by Foundwork, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization that promotes access and recognition for contemporary artists worldwide. To be considered, artists must register and maintain a published profile on the Foundwork website, with at least 6 artworks and an artist statement on their profile page, throughout this year’s selection period: throughout the entire 2026 selection period: 5:00 p.m. PT on September 25, 2026—5:00 p.m. PT on December 31, 2026. Please note that artist memberships on Foundwork have a $6 monthly subscription fee, which begins with a 30-day free trial for new members.
The 2025 Foundwork Artist Prize supports outstanding artistic practices by emerging and mid-career artists working in any medium. The prize is open to artists residing anywhere in the world. Duos and collectives will not be considered for the Foundwork Artist Prize.
This year’s honoree will receive an unrestricted $10,000 grant, remote studio visits with each member of our jury cohort, and a published interview as part of the Foundwork Dialogues program.
Application deadline: September 25, 2026
