Award Worms – Daycare center in Carl-Villinger-Straße in Worms
A new two-storey daycare center with 8 groups (6 kindergarten and 2 crèche groups) in timber construction will soon be built in Carl-Villinger-Straße in Worms.
The façade is planned as a pre-greyed wooden façade and in the rear area with a cladding of fiber cement panels in graduated shades of green.
The two areas in the interior, i.e. in the area of the air spaces in the entrance area of the building, are intended as installation sites for “art on the building”.
The two areas should be upgraded in the form of artistic objects (e.g. mobiles or similar structures) that relate to the purpose of the building. The implementation of the objects, installations, etc. should be identity-promoting and playful, cheerful / creative / bold / colorful / bright.

Non-open competition preceded by an open application procedure
In the first phase, 3 to 5 participants are selected by an independent committee via the application procedure and then invited to participate in the second phase, the realization competition

Amount awarded
€ 75,000.00 (gross) incl. materials and fees
Remuneration
The participants in the first phase – application procedure will not receive any expense or processing fee.
The applicants selected by the selection committee for the second phase, i.e. for participation in the realization competition, who submit a verifiable work that meets the competition conditions, will each receive a processing fee of EUR 1,200.00 (incl. VAT). For the competition winner, the expense allowance will be offset against the order amount.
Services for the first phase – application procedure (applications according to the application form)
For the application procedure, up to 3 realized reference projects “Art on buildings / art in public space, art in urban space or architecture-related art” must be submitted.
In order to enable younger artists to participate, sketches of ideas are also permitted in addition to references.
The application documents must be submitted in accordance with the application form.
The application form must be completed in full by the applicant and submitted on time with all the documents (references) requested therein.
