The “machen!” competition is aimed at committed people and initiatives in rural eastern Germany and recognizes their commitment to the common good. Every year, 200 project ideas are awarded prize money of between 2,500 and 10,000 euros to promote and highlight local commitment. The aim is to strengthen the creative power in rural regions and provide new impetus for living together.
Applications are open to non-profit organizations in eastern Germany with project ideas that serve the common good, improve the living environment and strengthen social cohesion.
The projects submitted are funded in three categories: “Shaping living spaces”, “NextGen engaged” and “Building bridges”. We are looking for creative and original approaches that bring people together, strengthen young participation or promote exchange across borders.
