MEMPHIS CALLING is an international open call for curators and curatorial collectives to develop an exhibition for Memphis in Linz, Austria, in early 2027.
We are looking for distinctive curatorial approaches that bring together different artistic perspectives and engage with contemporary artistic, social, political, and technological issues. There is no predefined theme or medium. We welcome experimental, interdisciplinary, and unexpected approaches and are particularly interested in ideas that explore different ways of working with the exhibition space.
The selected proposal will be developed in consultation with the Memphis team and presented from mid-January through the end of February 2027. A total budget of up to €7,500 is available for conception and implementation, including curatorial and artist fees, production, travel, and transportation. Memphis also provides the exhibition space and infrastructure, organizational and technical support, as well as communication and PR services.
Applications are accepted from around the world and may be submitted in English or German.
