The artists’ town of Kalbe, an innovative project in the Altmark (Saxony-Anhalt) with the aim of countering demographic change through art and culture, is awarding scholarships for a work residency in accordance with Joseph Beuys’ concept of social sculpture, the artists’ town of Kalbe sees itself as a place where the creative power of art is to be unleashed in order to build a free, sustainable society worth living in.Over a period of six weeks, national and international artists from all disciplines (visual arts, literature, performing arts, music, film, photography, media art, interdisciplinary projects) are invited to participate in such a social sculpture in Kalbe and to contribute their own project ideas.
