PACT ZOLLVEREIN – RESIDENZEN 2027

The Pakt Zollverein offers 3- to 6-week residencies as part of its year-round residency program for the development of artistic projects and productions, in which artists from around the world have been participating since 2002. The residency brings together the fields of stage, platform, and urban space, fostering a fruitful exchange between theoretical and practical work at the Künstlerhaus. A final presentation is not required; the focus is on the process-oriented nature of artistic work. Residents are free to structure their residency as they see fit: they discuss, develop, and rehearse autonomously in their own studio; as needed, the full infrastructure of PACT (rehearsal spaces, kitchen, Wi-Fi, etc.) is available to residents at any time.

Applications are open to international artists working in the fields of dance/choreography, performance, media art/installation, video art/film, music/sound art, science, urban studies, technology, and architecture.

The residency includes a studio (between 69 and 173 square meters), accommodations (up to 4 people), a weekly stipend for all artists participating in the project (up to 4 people), travel expenses for a one-time round trip (up to 4 people), provision of technical equipment (subject to agreement and availability), and technical support (subject to agreement and availability).

Application deadline: September 28, 2026
