Scholarship for art and inclusion

Award and conditions of the scholarship

In cooperation with the Kunstverein Reutlingen and the HfWU Nürtingen-Geislingen’s Artistic Therapies (HKT) degree courses, Habila has set up an art scholarship that is awarded annually to young artists. The scholarship is part of our overall concept for the Kulturpark Reutlingen-Nord. New things should grow here. The core and driving force is to create a place for encounters where the idea of inclusion is deeply rooted and which supports the entire project.

Art and the art scholarship have a special role to play here. Art engages people, challenges them, stimulates them or offers opportunities to express things that are otherwise hidden. It also lowers the barriers to entering into conversation with one another.

The one-year scholarship, which we offer to artists who have completed a university degree, is linked to art therapy and is designed for cooperation. The art scholarship offers a great deal of freedom and space for individual creativity. New approaches developed together are expressly encouraged. The artist has their own, separable studio area at their disposal.

The scholarship is granted for a period of at least nine to a maximum of twelve months. The period is October 15 to October 15 of the following year.

The awarding of the scholarship is decided by the jury appointed by the Habila, which consists of five to seven art experts.
