Tue 28.4. / 18:00 / RADIO CORAX event room

Works of art from the GDR
A look at the collections

How are works of art created in the GDR preserved, processed and exhibited today? How large is the proportion of works by women artists in the collections? How did the collections come about? Who has what? How are they catalogued? How should they be handled? What should be done with artists’ estates in the future? Ulrike Kremeier (Director Brandenburg State Museum of Modern Art / BLMK), Dr. Angelika Weißbach (Research Associate Museum Utopie und Alltag / Kunstarchiv Beeskow), Prof. Dr. Annegret Laabs (Director Kunstmuseum Kloster Unser Lieben Frauen Magdeburg and Professor of Art History at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design, Halle) and Dr. Ruth Heftrig (Berufsverband Bildender Künstler Sachsen-Anhalt e.V.) will take part in the discussion. The event will be moderated by art historian Anna Ebert. Admission free. An event organized by SICHTBAR MACHEN – East German Women Artists 1945 to 1989 in Saxony-Anhalt.
