Exhibition: And Yet: Love
The exhibition *And Yet: Love* is dedicated to the most significant and, at the same time, most multifaceted aspect of the human emotional world. Drawing on various forms of love—love between people and the rituals associated with it, love of nature and one’s homeland, love of God, and love for one’s neighbor—the exhibition offers different perspectives on a universal emotion that connects cultures, eras, and spheres of life.
The exhibition features selected objects from the museum’s collections, including works by Walter Beuschel, Helga Ginevra, and Jürgen Lorenz, as well as shoes by designer Jan Jansen. The objects from the museum’s holdings engage in a dialogue with contemporary works by regional and international artists.
The exhibition explores the theme of love from several different angles. Objects and installations explore interpersonal affection, romantic love, family ties, and the bond between people and their environment—such as love for nature or for one’s own city. Religious motifs and depictions point to love for God and the spiritual aspects of the theme.
The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the various forms that love takes and to share their own experiences and perspectives—on a topic that is as universal as it is personal.
The exhibition is curated by Manuel Schwarz, director of the Museum at Weißenfels Castle, and Katharina Gahlert, curator and assistant at BRAND-SANIERUNG e.V.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a diverse program of events.
