Art Explora has launched the call for applications for the Art Explora – Cité internationale des Arts Residency Program 2027.
To foster new encounters between the arts and audiences—locally, nationally, and internationally—Art Explora launched its first residency program in Paris in 2021. Since then, the residency program has welcomed and supported more than 145 residents from 58 countries, of all ages and disciplines.
Artists and artist collectives, researchers, and curators from around the world are invited to apply for this residency program with projects that explore the relationships between art, science, and technology and address the social and ecological issues of our time.
Two programs are proposed:
- SOLO program for artists only;
- COLLECTIVE program for artist collectives or artist-researcher/curator pairs
The residencies last 3 or 6 months, and there are two residency sessions:
- March–August 2027 (Session 1)
- September 2027 – February 2028 (Session 2)
The Art Explora program offers customized support that accompanies artists throughout their creative process, providing both curatorial and production assistance. In addition, a mentorship program featuring leading figures from the art world further strengthens the support provided to artists. Active networking is also one of the program’s key pillars.
Eligible artistic disciplines include the visual arts, the performing arts, and the digital arts. The eligible research fields are the humanities, the social sciences, the natural sciences, technological innovation, and ecology.
Each resident receives:
- A 3- or 6-month residency at the Cité internationale des arts—Montmartre site, in Paris
- A fully furnished and equipped live-work studio of approximately 50 m²
- A living allowance of 1,000 EUR per month
- A production grant of 3,000 EUR
- A round-trip journey to Paris
Application deadline: October 30, 2026
