The “St. Leopold Peace Prize”, named after the founder of the foundation, honors works of art that critically address humane and socio-political issues. The art prize is awarded to works of fine art in the fields of painting, graphic art, photography and sculpture which, in addition to their artistic aspirations, demonstrate humanitarian commitment and implement the specified theme.
The prize is awarded every two years and is endowed with € 12,000. Artists of any nationality, political and religious persuasion as well as groups of artists can apply.

Submissions for the Art Prize of the Year 2027 will be possible from July 1 to September 30, 2026. Applications can only be submitted digitally using the application form available on this page from July.
Please note: An entry fee must be paid for each work of art. From the works submitted, a jury of experts will select a maximum of 30 works by the beginning of November 2026, which will be deemed worthy of an award and nominated, and which must be submitted to the jury in their original form by February 2027. At a second meeting at the end of February 2027, the jury will decide on the actual winner and any awards of recognition. The St. Leopold Peace Prize 2027 will be awarded in spring 2027.
