The Artica Svalbard Artist Residency is a program of the Office for Contemporary Art Norway (OCA) that offers artists from around the world and from Norway residencies lasting at least 6 weeks. The program supports artistic creation and research in the unique Arctic environment of Svalbard and promotes artistic risk-taking, artistic freedom, and professional development. The residency is aimed at contemporary artists who wish to deepen their practice within this distinctive geographic and cultural context.
Who can apply?
Norwegian visual artists and artists based in Norway who are interested in the polar regions and/or global perspectives, discussions, and issues from the Far North. Artist duos are welcome. Families may join them for the residency.
