We are looking for artists and creative professionals from all artistic and creative fields (visual arts, theater, music, film, literature, design, architecture, crafts) who are interested in developing and implementing a participatory art project in the Bavarian Forest over a period of three months.
The residencies take place at SCHIESSLHAUS AiR in Kollnburg or at BILD-WERK FRAUENAU in Frauenau.
What is it about?
In the DEMOKRATIE UNPLUGGED — KUNST FÜR ALLE project, the artist residencies are linked to an artistic and cultural mission. Each year, a total of about ten artists participate in the residency program for three months each, either at the Schiesslhaus AiR in Kollnburg or at the Bild-Werk Frauenau.
During their stay, the artists are actively involved in the region. Through regular project and workshop days, they collaborate with schools, clubs, initiatives, and/or village communities to develop artistic projects that foster exchange, participation, and creative collaboration.
The focus is on working with local people. Together with a core group, we develop artistic projects that foster exchange, enable participation, and explore new forms of community. The work is participatory, open, process-oriented, and takes shape directly through engagement with the region.
Application deadline: June 30, 2026
