Purpose of the event:

The event was organized in response to a request from cultural education stakeholders for an opportunity to engage with and increase their visibility within the departments of culture, education, and social services, as cultural education is an interdisciplinary field. The event provides a framework for participants to introduce themselves, gain a deeper understanding of each other’s structures and working methods, identify current challenges, and jointly explore potential approaches.

The following topics are scheduled to be discussed on October 15 during a dialogue between the administration and stakeholders in cultural education:

The discussion will focus on the current state of cultural education in Halle. It will also address how cultural education can be understood, funded, and managed as a cross-cutting issue within the administration. Another topic of discussion will be geographic coverage—that is, the distribution of programs across the city’s neighborhoods—as well as the use of public spaces and school grounds for cultural education.

Overview of the Process:

At the start of the event , there will be an opportunity to speak with Dr. Judith Marquardt (Deputy Mayor for Culture and Sports) and Ms. Katharina Brederlow (Deputy Mayor for Education and Social Affairs) before delving deeper into the topics with staff from the Department of Culture, Education, and Social Affairs.

  • Overview of the Administrative Structures and Responsibilities for Cultural Education by Deputy Mayors and Departments
  • Introduction to Selected Participants, Projects, and Current Topics
  • Presentation of current positive developments and challenges by the stakeholders
  • Questions, Answers, and Discussion with Dr. Marquardt and Ms. Brederlow
  • Further exploration of the content at the operational level with the departments and stakeholders in cultural education

We look forward to exchanging ideas with you.

Yours sincerely
