The sculptures on display seem to be exempt from TIME, a unit of measurement of the living. This art seeks to endure; it steps outside of time. The inorganic material is capable of becoming a resonating space for the ephemeral.
ZEIT Olaf Mokansky
In the “Trainscapes” series, time and movement cause details of the passing landscapes to fade away—only their basic colors and their distinctive light remain in the image.
“Expired.” In this series, ZEIT left its mark on the emulsion of layered photographic films. Using this altered raw material results in images that are shaped from the outset by chance and destruction.
