O Castro Art Village is an abandoned rural settlement in the Ribeira Sacra, Galicia. The organization is inviting applications from sound artists or musicians, architects, and visual/mixed-media artists to participate in a 30-day residency in October 2026. Sound artists are asked to create an installation in the space that will remain after the artists’ departure. Visual artists are asked to develop a permanent visual installation integrated into the ruins of the village. Artists will be mentored by filmmaker Davoud Gerami and will live in a climate-controlled geodesic dome located in the forest.
Eligibility: Legal resident of a European country other than Spain.
Support: Travel allowance of 400 EUR (800 EUR for distances over 5,000 km), daily allowance of 30 EUR per day, on-site accommodations, mentorship.
