The Pier-2 Artist-in-Residence Program is accepting applications for residencies in 2027, lasting no fewer than 60 days and no more than 90 days. Located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, the Pier-2 Art Center is a community-style arts hub created from a former warehouse complex. It is well-known for its diversity, openness, experimentation, and innovation, encompassing a wide range of artistic expressions, including visual arts, music, theater, cultural and creative industries, film, television, and more. The Pier-2 Artist-in-Residence Program (PAIR) 2027 welcomes artists whose practice engages with experimental approaches, interdisciplinary work, and place-based research.
This opportunity is open to artists and artistic groups (of two people) of all nationalities who have at least two years of experience in artistic creation.
Benefits: Studio and living space, art exchange area and opportunities, one round-trip economy-class airline ticket or one round-trip reserved-seat ticket for the high-speed rail, depending on the artist’s place of residence, A daily living allowance of 800 NTD (22 €) per person (group), a project-based material subsidy of 35,000 NTD (950 €), and each artist will be assigned a project manager to assist with residency-related matters.
