We’re getting closer to our goal!
Our fundraising campaign is entering the home stretch. Thanks to funding commitments and adjustments to the exhibition’s content, we no longer need the originally targeted amount (7,000 EUR), but only 5,030 EUR. We have already received 3,100 EUR in donations. This means we only need another 1,930 EUR for the exhibition to take place as planned. Let’s make it happen!

What has happened so far:
The curatorial team of Charlotte Ehrt and Anett Hoffmann has begun its work; the first planning meeting took place at the Old Town Hall in Wittenberg, and the mayor has confirmed that he will attend the opening on October 10, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. (please mark your calendars!) and the exhibitors are currently discussing the exhibits with the curators.

The Kulturwerk of the Professional Association of Visual Artists of Saxony-Anhalt (BBK) is planning a group exhibition featuring new BBK members for fall 2026. We would like to introduce the 40 new members to a broad public and will be able to do so in the unique spaces of the Old Town Hall in Lutherstadt Wittenberg. Located on the central square of Wittenberg’s Old Town, the professional visual artists offers the audience a wide range of artistic techniques and themes. On display are contemporary works from various regions of Saxony-Anhalt—including Aschersleben, Dessau-Roßlau, Halle (Saale), Kemberg, Lieskau, Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Magdeburg, Naumburg, Tanne, Wernigerode, and Zeitz. The exhibition is part of the “generell frisch” series, which has been touring our state since 2013—always featuring fresh works by new BBK members. In the fall of 2026, we will present artists who were admitted to the association in 2024.
Why we need support:
The Kulturwerk of the BBK Sachsen-Anhalt e.V. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting art and culture in our state and keeping them vibrant. It is primarily funded by donations from the Professional Association of Visual Artists of Saxony-Anhalt e.V., which, however, is unable to provide any “general funding” this year. The cash contributions expected from sponsors—usually 10%, but sometimes as high as 15%, of the project total—are difficult for many organizations to cover. Active associations with several funded projects per year, in particular, are reaching their limits. This is also the case for the BBK Saxony-Anhalt and the Kulturwerk of the BBK Saxony-Anhalt. However, we do not want to let the established “generell frisch” program fall through. Please help us with your support to make contemporary art visible!
Donation Receipt:
We are happy to issue a donation receipt for your donation. The Kulturwerk des BBK Sachsen-Anhalt e.V. is a nonprofit organization in accordance with Sections 51 through 68 of the German Tax Code (AO). For donations up to 300 euros, you do not need to submit a donation receipt to the tax office; “simplified proof,” such as a printout of the payment receipt, is sufficient. If you need a donation receipt, please provide us with your full name and mailing address.
