The Polygona Kunstverein e.V. is offering two residency places for the Passage Art Residency Program as part of the KOBRA cultural network. The KOBRA cultural network deals with continuities and ruptures in the cultural landscape between Fläming and Dübener Heide and opens up new perspectives on the district of Wittenberg. The ten network partners of the cultural network realize established art and cultural offerings. A central element of the network are four-week temporary residencies (artist-in-residence), which will be carried out between 2025 and 2029 in cooperation with the KOBRA network partners. National and international artists from the fields of photography and film are invited to apply. The two residencies in 2026 will be carried out with the KOBRA network partners Ferropolis Stiftung Industriekultur and the Reformation History Research Library Wittenberg (RFB). The program offers the opportunity to engage artistically with the history and current use of the former Zschornewitz coal-fired power plant (Gräfenhainichen) as well as with the extensive holdings of the RFB. The residencies will take place in October 2026.
With the Passage Art Residency Program, the Polygona Kunstverein e.V. enables artists from the fields of photography and film to work temporarily (artist-in-residence) in the Dübener Heide and the district of Wittenberg. The region unites different landscapes, historical layers and social developments. We want to pass on this diversity and encourage artistic exploration through thematic focuses. The program invites artists to deal with the transformations of the region, with questions of structural change and with social, historical or scenic themes.
The KOBRA project is part of the program “Aller.Land – zusammen gestalten. Strengthening structures.” program. The program is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM), the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Home Affairs (BMLEH) and the Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb). The program partner is the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI). Aller.Land is part of the federal program Rural Development and Regional Value Creation (BULEplus).
