The city is a shared habitat. People, animals, plants, and technical systems come together in urban space—whether visible or hidden, tolerated or suppressed, encouraged or controlled. For the summer of 2027, the Lendhauer Association invites artists and cultural practitioners to develop projects for public spaces at Klagenfurt’s Lendhafen. The focus is on the relationships between human and non-human actors and the question of how coexistence, value, and belonging are negotiated in urban space.
We are seeking installation-based, performative, discursive, or interventionist works, as well as experimental, process-oriented, and collaborative approaches. Public space should be understood not only as a venue for presentation but also as an active component of the artistic work. Production budgets and honoraria are provided for the selected projects. The specific amounts depend on the final funding approvals and will be determined in consultation with the invited artists.
