Closed, two-stage design competition preceded by a Europe-wide open call for entries
For the new construction of the Vocational Training Center for Electrical Engineering in Dresden, proposals are to be developed for an artwork to be installed on or inside the school building that establishes a distinctive connection to the site and, through its artistic quality and expressiveness, contributes to the users’ sense of identification with the vocational training center. The artwork(s) should enrich the school site and enhance the quality of the environment for those who spend time there. Care must be taken to ensure that the work can be experienced through the senses and meets the school’s specific functional requirements.

Conditions of participation
Professional artists and artist groups residing in the European Union are eligible to participate.
Prize Money and Budget Implementation:
A total of €30,000 in prize money is available for the competition. A maximum total budget (fees and implementation costs) of €330,000, including VAT, is available for the realization of up to two works. The prize money will be applied toward the fees.
Promotion:
The entire process and the implementation of the project are fully funded by EU grants (ERDF).
