Seeking Exhibitors for BBKarium 2027

The “BBKarium Saxony-Anhalt” project, which launched in 2026, is set to continue in 2027. A BBKarium is an exhibition space in a public area—vibrant and visible to everyone. Through rotating exhibitions, members of the Professional Association of Visual Artists of Saxony-Anhalt present their works right where people pass by every day. Together, the BBKarien in Saxony-Anhalt form a growing network that makes contemporary art in Saxony-Anhalt accessible to new audiences. The storefront exhibitions are open 24/7. We’re thrilled to announce that Weißenfels is now joining the existing locations of Dessau, Halle, Magdeburg, Wernigerode, and Wittenberg!

A grant application is currently underway to secure funding for the project. Decisions are expected by the end of 2026. At the same time, we are calling on all members of the BBK Saxony-Anhalt to apply for one of the two-month exhibitions. At the end of 2026, a committee composed of representatives from the local groups and, if necessary, members of the BBK Saxony-Anhalt board will review the applications and decide on the allocation of time slots.

There is no specific theme associated with this open call. The goal is to showcase works by our members that they consider relevant or suitable for the specified exhibition format. The BBK Saxony-Anhalt is interested in showcasing a wide variety of visual arts (e.g., many different media and techniques) and representing a broad spectrum of members—that is, art by people of all genders, from all regions of our state, and of all generations. We ask all applicants to submit a specific work that fits the exhibition format—so please have an image file and key details about the work ready!

Application deadline: October 15, 2026
