Neurodiversity in dialog

The exhibition project “Neurodiversity in Dialogue” is dedicated to the visualization and strengthening of neurodivergent voices. The aim is to create awareness of diversity, highlight strengths and highlight social barriers through artistic works.

“Neurodiversity describes the fact that people have different brains and nervous systems. […] Neuroatypes also include, for example, ADHD, autism, dyscalculia, dyslexia, high sensitivity and giftedness.” (BZND: https://bznd.org, 14.08.2025).

Artists from the fields of photography, painting, film, design, graphics, music and poetry who deal with the topic of neurodiversity in their work are invited to apply with 1-3 works for an exhibition in September 2026 at the VielRespektZentrum in Essen.

he exhibition project will be accompanied and promoted by the Folkwang University of the Arts and the VielRespektZentrum, among others. The exhibition will be accompanied by active public relations work via digital channels, press formats and networks in the arts and culture sector. The exhibition offers artists the opportunity to present their work to a wide audience. A publication with selected contributions is also planned.
