Between Bridges is pleased to announce the Open Call for the next residency. The residency will take place from January to June 2027 and includes a working phase and a one-month exhibition or public presentation. The ninth fellow will follow previous artists Yalda Afsah, Didem Pekün, Lucy Beech, Harry Hachmeister, Wisrah C. V. da R. Celestino, Kristian Vistrup Madsen, caner teker and the Viscose collective.
Eligibility
The residency is aimed at professional artists, artist duos or small groups working collaboratively. Artists who are enrolled at a university at the time of application are not eligible to participate, with the exception of those enrolled in PhD programs. The quality of the application and the work samples are decisive for the awarding of the scholarship.
Scope of the residency
The work and exhibition grant includes the use of the premises at Keithstraße 15 in Berlin-Schöneberg. The premises are located not far from Wittenbergplatz subway station on the first floor of an apartment building. The commercial premises include two large work and exhibition rooms with a total area of 100 m², a materials store, an office space, a kitchen and a bathroom. We regret that the rooms are neither wheelchair accessible nor suitable for living.
The residency offers a monthly stipend of 1,500 euros (regardless of the number of participants) as well as the opportunity to visit studios in the Between Bridges network. A budget of 5,000 euros is available specifically for the exhibition or presentation. Independent work is a prerequisite. Between Bridges cannot provide direct support for the installation of the exhibition or presentation, but will assist in the search for suitable service providers. The exhibition will be promoted via Between Bridges’ communication channels and documented on our website.
Application
The application must include a CV, a portfolio and a short project proposal with an exhibition or presentation concept. All documents must be combined in a single PDF file (max. 10 MB, max. 10 pages in total including all components).
The project proposal must not exceed 250 words or half an A4 page. If relevant, links to video or audio work can be included in the application. The same page limits apply to group applications. Applications must be submitted digitally in German or English via the online application form: https://www.betweenbridges.net/de/residency
Selected applicants will be notified in August 2026. We ask for your understanding that we can only contact the selected persons and unfortunately do not have the capacity to provide individual feedback on the applications. The winners of the ninth edition of the residency will be announced via our social media channels and our newsletter.
