From August 8 to October 4, I will be exhibiting woodcuts at Projektraum P16 in Halle that were created in 2024 during a residency grant from the Saxony-Anhalt Art Foundation—at that time still under the theme “Images from the Amber Cave: A Fantasy Documentary.” That could also serve as the title for this small exhibition.
As a child, I lived in a world of boundless imagination, which I still draw upon today as an artist. Engaging with my memories—or rather, my own inner world—is a necessary source of reassurance for me: Where do I come from? Where do my images come from? At first glance, these are entirely subjective questions. But the relationship between the individual and society is very much a political issue. For me, it is nothing short of existential—the driving force behind my work.
