Call for entries – Art & Design Market 2024

Sichtbar- Kunst- & Designmarkt
7. & 8. September 2024
Sa & So 11-18 Uhr
im Burggraben des Kunstmuseums Moritzburg Halle (Saale)

Dear artists and designers,
In 2024, Halle (Saale) will once again host the Visible Art & Design Market in the moat of the Moritzburg Art Museum – this time curated and organized by Kerstin Krieg and Matthias Behne, who will take over from Suse Kaluza and Katharina Willsch-Werner on an annual basis. We look forward to a good cooperation with you and a nice market in September. Once again, around 60 artists from all areas will be able to offer their goods for sale during the market weekend. These include jewelry, textile work, ceramics and porcelain, illustration, sculpture, paper work, product design, graphics and painting … We look forward to your numerous participation!

This year, in addition to your usual “marketable” goods, we would like to ask you to bring at least one work that also draws attention to your free artistic work, the creative process or experimental forms of expression. This special object will be identified by us at your stands and will automatically take part in the competition for the new “sichtbar – Kunst- und Designpreis 2024”. This prize worth EUR 300, donated by Hallesche Wohnungsgesellschaft mbH (HWG), will be awarded publicly on Sunday. A jury consisting of the following persons will decide on the awarding of the prize:

  • Thomas Bille (cultural journalist, e.g. MDR Kultur and Artour as well as member of the Akademie der Künste Sachsen-Anhalt e.V.)
  • Anne Deuter (freelance book artist, book art mediator and illustrator and BBK member)
  • Dr. Angela Dolgner (art historian, architect and Chairwoman of the Friends and Sponsors of the Moritzburg Art Museum Halle (Saale) e.V.)

In addition, there will also be an audience award, which will be presented by the BBK Sachsen-Anhalt and the Friends and Sponsors of the Moritzburg Art Museum Halle (Saale) e.V., also on Sunday. This is endowed with a one-year free membership of the association and prize money of EUR 150 financed by the BBK. The aim is to create a second level at the market, a kind of art trail that invites new and different conversations and, as a special feature for the media, will generate even greater interest in the event. The art trail will be specially advertised and thus offers a further attraction for visitors and, we hope, also for the exhibitors at the market. Nevertheless, as you will see, we still compare favorably with other markets. We hope for your understanding.
